Who Can Use Licensed Online Casinos in Mexico
Mexican-licensed casinos are set up for players who are physically in Mexico. If you live here or are visiting, you can generally register once you are 18 and can pass the operator’s identity check. That usually means an INE voter card or a passport, plus proof of address or a bank statement.
Whether a particular site accepts a foreign passport, or a bank account from outside Mexico, is up to the operator’s own checks, so read the requirements before you deposit. This site does not list offshore casinos for readers elsewhere.
The full rules on age, ID and tax on winnings are on our page answering whether gambling is legal in Mexico.
Where to Find Every Licensed Online Casino in Mexico
The complete list has its own page with a search box and a filter by permit holder. For each site it shows the domain, the brand, the Mexican company holding the permit, and the permit and oficio numbers where we have read them on the site.
Warning Signs of an Unlicensed Online Casino in Mexico
Many sites that market to Mexico hold no Mexican permit. If you spot any of these, don’t sign up:
- No permit number in the footer. Every authorized site has to show one.
- Only a Curaçao or Malta license. A foreign license does not authorize a casino to take bets in Mexico.
- The wrong address. If a brand runs a .mx site and you are on its .com version, you are not on the site the permit covers.
- Crypto deposits on offer. Licensed casinos in Mexico work only in pesos.
More warning signs, and what to do if you already have money on such a site, are in our guide to spotting illegal online casinos.
How to Compare Licensed Online Casinos in Mexico
Once you know a site is legal, the differences are in the terms it publishes. Four things to compare:
- Withdrawals. Payouts almost always go to a Mexican bank account by SPEI transfer. Operators publish times from about a minute to several business days.
- Deposits. Cards, SPEI and cash at OXXO or other convenience stores are the usual options. Limits and fees vary.
- Offer conditions. Wagering and the time limit matter more than the headline amount. Read the full terms before you accept a bonus.
- Controls. Deposit limits and self-exclusion are set by each casino, because Mexico has no national self-exclusion register.
Responsible Gambling at Online Casinos in Mexico
Decide on a budget before you log in and treat it as the cost of the entertainment, not money to win back. If you find yourself chasing losses or keeping your spending from people close to you, stop and talk to someone.
Línea de la Vida is Mexico’s national helpline for mental health and addictions, open 24 hours a day, and in August 2026 the health authority that runs it pointed people with gambling problems to it too. It does not say whether it can help in English. Jugadores Anónimos México (Gamblers Anonymous) holds online meetings; times are on jamexico.org.
If gambling stops being fun, call Línea de la Vida on 800 911 2000 (24 hours).
Limits, self-exclusion and the tools each casino offers are covered in our responsible gambling guide for Mexico.
If an unlicensed casino keeps your balance or closes your account, the DGJS has no permit holder to take your complaint against. Nobody checks that it keeps a record of your bets or pays out in pesos to a bank in Mexico.
Online Casinos in Mexico: Common Questions
Are online casinos legal in Mexico?
Yes, when the site belongs to a company with a SEGOB permit and its domain is authorized by the DGJS. Mexico has no separate online license, so the permit plus that domain authorization is what makes a site legal.
Can I play at a Mexican online casino from the United States?
No. Mexican-licensed sites are for players located in Mexico. This site covers only casinos licensed in Mexico and lists no offshore alternatives.
How do I check that an online casino has a permit?
Enter its address in the checker at the top of this page, or find it in the directory of licensed casinos. Then look for the permit number and oficio in the site’s own footer and make sure they refer to the domain you are on.
Can I deposit in US dollars or crypto?
No. The gaming rules require every betting transaction to be in Mexican pesos, so licensed sites take and pay only MXN. A site that offers dollar or crypto deposits for Mexico is a warning sign.
Can I play at bet365 or Betano in Mexico?
Not at the moment. The DGJS suspended both brands’ Mexican domains in July 2026, after a financial intelligence unit action in November 2025, and our directory will show them as suspended until that changes.
